Fuel Scarcity: Jonathan Was Voted Out 9 Months Ago, Start Accepting Responsibility, Ben Bruce Tells FG

The senator representing Bayelsa East district in the National Assembly, Ben Murray-Bruce, has scoffed at the federal government’s attempt to blame the lingering fuel scarcity on the past administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had while responding to a question from State House correspondents Monday, on why the fuel scarcity was biting harder despite payment of subsidy claims to oil marketers and previous promises that the problem would subside before Christmas, said Nigerians were paying for the sins ofthe Jonathan government.

“One of the reasons for the fuel scarcity was the inability of the last government to make adequate provision for fuel subsidy.

“We do face some other logistic problems but majorly, we are paying for the sins of the last administration.

“What I will be telling Nigerians is that what we met on ground is such that we are paying for the sins of the last administration. I am being very serious”, the Minister was widely quoted as saying.

Reacting to the statement, Senator Murray-Bruce, who is fast gaining popularity as the preacher of the ‘common sense’ message, urged the All Progressives Congress-led federal government to stop the blame game and start accepting responsibility.

The senator expressed these views via his Twitter handle @benmurraybruce:

So, let me get this right: The fuel scarcity we are facing today is the fault of an administration that was voted out 9 months ago? Issorai!

How ridiculous! Are we going to be told Jonathan is responsible for harmattan and my neighbor's wife's miscarriage?
#acceptresponsibility!

Obama inherited the worst economy ever yet has succeeded in reducing unemployment and petrol prices without once blaming his predecessor!

The reason Nigerians elected this administration is because our electorate wanted to hold them responsible for running Nigeria not Jonathan.

Instead of blame game, swallow your pride and work towards political collaboration to get us out of this no fuel, no power, no FX situation!
